Two Long-Time Administrators CelebratedDecember 16, 2016

Two long-time administrators were recently honored by their peers for their years of service to the patients and staff at Miller’s.  Mary Lou Chapman will soon be retiring following over 43 years working in the Sullivan community.  Mike Bice, Regional VP of Operations, described being hired by Mary Lou in the Dietary department and the high standards she held, as well as her heart for mentoring her employees.  He also shared the impact that Mary Lou has had on the entire Sullivan community and surrounding area, due to her civic and charitable involvement.  We know that Mary Lou will be missed, but that her impact will continue in many, many ways.

Greg Fassett is retiring after 38 years with Miller’s, serving most recently at Culver.  Speaking to the group of Administrators, he recounted his journey in healthcare, beginning with a wish at age 5, and continuing through thousands of days and a great multitude of patients and employees.  Possibly most significant for him has been the privilege of caring not only for so many patients from the communities he has served, but also caring for both his mother and father in his building through their last days.  During his tenure, he has had several Deficiency-free surveys (even including a Deficiency-free Federal survey) and has received multiple professional, civic and industry awards.

Speaking of the retirees, President Patrick Boyle stated, “Both Mary Lou and Greg have shared an intense passion for their patients.  They’ve influenced countless lives both inside and outside of their buildings.  Their legacies as Miller’s employees will be long remembered.  We thank them for their service to our patients and wish them well.”  Congratulations on your retirement, Mary Lou and Greg!
