“Celebrating the Journey” with Landon Herbert at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rushville
Celebrating the Journey was the theme for National Nursing Home Week® 2012. Throughout the week, Miller’s Merry Manor held events to honor the lives—and milestones—of the people they care for and the staff who serve them. Following is one of those stories.
Landon Herbert and his wife are enjoying their retirement years together at Miller’s Merry Manor. Landon enjoys helping others and continues to help others at Miller’s. Landon has served others for many years. He was a special education teacher in a prevocational program. Landon taught mentally challenged teens skills of everyday living (cleaning house, cooking, laundry etc…)He was a teacher at Ben Davis High School for 14 years, he also taught at Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Home. Landon has served others by serving in the South Pacific and mentoring others in his church. Landon is a prime example of how serving others does not end in ones retirement.
