Happy 4th of July!

This week as we’re celebrating America’s independence, I’ve been reminded in some very practical ways of what a great country we live in. First, we’ve seen our government system in action, as our State wrestled with budget issues. Regardless of which side of the aisle you typically support, it’s been good to see our elected officials from both sides at work, as negotiations took place until a final draft of the budget was signed late Tuesday by Governor Daniels. Also this week, I enjoyed a patriotic celebration at Miller’s Senior Living Community in Portage. The staff at Miller’s did an excellent job in honoring our veterans from the Portage community. Congressman Pete Visclosky and Mayor Olga Velazquez were just a few of the speakers who recognized the many sacrifices made by each veteran so that we can enjoy a country that is free. We thank all the speakers who made this day special for everyone who attended, and we’re especially grateful to the “Greatest Generation” of American citizens who they honored.Patrick BoylePresident/C.E.O.
