Miller’s Merry Manor is dedicated to caring for America’s Greatest Generations. Caring for, listening to and providing comfort during difficult times is what Miller’s Merry Manor does best. Our staff members often get to know each resident and their families on a personal level and the staff may come to feel as if they are caring for their own families. Undoubtedly, your loved one has many stories to share and we are here to listen.
Each Miller’s Nursing Home has a warm, home-like atmosphere, with an inviting dining room, a recreation center where you may enjoy a variety of activities and cozy lounges for television viewing, visiting with loved ones and meeting new friends. We want our home to be your home. We encourage each resident to bring in furnishings to decorate their new home while providing those all important personal touches. An antique night stand, a favorite chair, a television; all of these things will help you feel more comfortable in your new home.
DINING / NUTRITION:
Our Premier Dining Program allows Miller’s Merry Manor residents to move from the industry standard of set menus, assigned seating and permanent meal times to a restaurant and hospitality model involving freedom of choice. This model reinforces the belief that individuals. desire to remain independent and fulfilled should be encouraged regardless of current health or housing status.
Residents have the ability to select food preferences and specialized diets from a varied menu, in addition to the freedom to choose the time of their meal, and the added benefit of open seating, allowing for more social choices. Those not wishing to choose from the dining menu may be served a nutritious ‘Chef’s Choice’ meal designed by the Registered Dietitian. Perhaps most important, the Miller’s Merry Manor Premier Dining Experience continues the familiarity of a lifetime of making choices and independent decisions while fostering a healthy approach to dining.
ACTIVITIES:
Many of the activities offered to our residents are of their own choosing. Excursions to ball games, other outdoor activities, lunches, visits from school children, arts and crafts in the activities room, sing-alongs at the piano are just a small sampling of the many pastimes offered at Miller’s. A wheel chair accessible van is available to take residents to community events assuring that they remain a part of the activities of the community-at-large.
NURSING:
We first consider the individual. What physical needs are apparent? What emotional needs should be met? Along with administering medications and treatment, our nurses and nursing assistants concern themselves with all aspects of a resident’s well being. Through a positive attitude approach, our staff tries to motivate residents toward a healthy outlook and rekindle a zest for life.
ADMISSIONS POLICY:
It is the policy of this facility to admit individuals without regard to race, creed, national origin, religion, sex, age, handicap, or condition of infectious disease, as prescribed by law, provided the facility can meet the needs of the resident.
OUR HISTORY:
In 1964, Wallace and Connie Miller’s vision to provide long-term healthcare for the aging became a reality when, after mortgaging everything they had, they opened Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. You will notice that we typically refer to our Nursing Homes as Rehabilitation and Healthcare Centers. This is because Millers offers our communities so much more…
Today the Miller family celebrates a dedication to improving the quality of life that has been responsible for evolving into a corporation that now operates 31 nursing home/rehabilitation centers & several additional assisted living communities.
It began with the purchase of the former Kosciusko County Home and its 157-plus acres just outside Warsaw’s city limits. Mrs. Miller, a registered nurse, enjoyed working with the elderly and realized a need for a healthcare center in Warsaw. Her husband was a confident businessman, but neither expected their venture to evolve to the magnitude that it is today, and neither could have possibly imagined what their facilities would mean to so many people.
Presently, Miller’s Merry Manor is managed by a group of long-term senior employees, Patrick Boyle, CEO, Lori Haug, CFO, and Gregory Spaulding as COO. The board of directors of Miller’s Merry Manor includes the Miller’s two sons, V. Richard and James Miller, and daughters Beverly and Barbara. A third son, Wally Jr. died in July 1998. Prior to his death, Wally Jr. served 20 years as the CEO-COO for his family’s health care business.
