My loved one might have to go to the hospital for treatment during their stay at Miller’s. What is the bed hold policy for Miller’s?

Bed Hold Policy: The Facility will hold a bed for 5 days for a Medicaid or Medicare A Resident and this agreement shall remain in full force and effect should the Resident require hospitalization or therapeutic leave of absence. Bed hold day(s) are a non-covered service by Medicare and Medicaid. If a recipient's hospital stay or leave of absence exceeds five (5) days and the Resident desires to return to the Facility, the Resident will be re-assessed and will be permitted to return to the first appropriate, available certified bed.

In the case of a Private Pay or Managed Care (Insurance) recipient, the Facility will hold the Resident's bed as long as the resident agrees to pay privately the private daily rate, unless the Resident informs the Facility the Resident is not returning to the Facility.

Residents may be re-assessed prior to returning from a hospitalization to assure we can continue to meet their needs. Unless the resident informs the Facility that the Resident is not returning to the Facility or upon re-assessment the Facility determines that it cannot meet the Resident's needs, the term and conditions of this Agreement remain in full force and effect.
